Long Beach Queen of The Western Shore
By Kathryn Dyer and Chas. Alfin (1928)
California I’ll soon be returning
There’s no place haunts my mem’ry like you
For your bright sunlit skies I am yearning
And your flower beds sprinkled with dew
You’re an Eden I’ll always remember
And I dream of its charms night and day
Where the sun shines as bright in December
As it does in June or May
Long Beach, my home town,
Queen of the western shore
I have traveled around
And no place can compare to your climate so rare
Your bright harbor lights
Make a path on the silver sea
You’re the queen beach of sunny California
Long Beach, you’re home sweet home to me
Signal Hill like a bright starry kingdom
Stands alone as a monarch supreme
While the ships soaring high find a haven
In the port of an air pilot’s dream
On your long sandy strand hearts are lighter
And all care seems to vanish away
While the waves breaking soft seem to murmur
What my soul will always say
Long Beach, my home town,
Queen of the western shore
I have traveled around
And no place can compare to your climate so rare
Your bright harbor lights
Make a path on the silver sea
You’re the queen beach of sunny California
Long Beach, you’re home sweet home to me
Long Beach For Mine
Words and Music by Eddie Klein (1923)
I’ve travelled through this USA
I’ve been from coast to coast
Perhaps I’ve been in your home town
Though I’m not one to boast
I want to tell you of a town
No limit to it’s reach
It’s not LA nor Frisco
Its little old Long Beach
Our front door is the ocean
Our side door, Signal Hill
Our back door, our industries
And our motto “I will”
So Lets all get together
For the sake of Old Lang Syne
And when someone asks
Where are you from
Shout Long Beach For Mine
There’s thousands coming ev’ry day
To this most wondrous place
They’re building houses overnight
To keep up with the pace
Our recreation park will be
Our playground and a peach
More reason we should tell folks
Of little old Long Beach
Our front door is the ocean
Our side door, Signal Hill
Our back door our industries
And our motto “I will”
So Lets all get together
For the sake of Old Lang Syne
And when someone asks
Where are you from
Shout Long Beach For Mine
Long Beach By The Sea

melody and harmony together
lyrics
Long Beach Long Beach by the sea
There Virginia waits for me
How her eyes with love light beam
A queen among a thousand queens and
Where the breakers splash and play
Every Day’s a holiday
Life’s one loving melody
In Long Beach by the sea
Long Beach Long Beach by the sea
There Virginia waits for me
How her eyes with love light beam
A queen among a thousand queens and
Where the breakers splash and play
Every Day’s a holiday
Life’s one loving melody
In Long Beach by the sea
In Long Beach by the sea
In Long Beach by the sea
